Is it often formidable for teachers to spot ... - Education Reference

Question by caravilla: Is it often formidable for teachers to spot the student with learning disabilities in the classroom?
Please tell me classroom behaviors that might indicate that a preschool juvenile has a learning disability and should be referred for evaluation for special education services.

A juvenile around the age of 3 or 4 should be able to identify at least the radical colors, know names of animals, count to ten and have a vocabulary of about 25-50 words and be able to speak in fleeting sentences.

Not all juvenileren are the same. Each learns at their own pace. What also affects this is if parents take the time and play games with the juvenileren involving learning numbers, colors, etc.

Children at that age have a formidable time focusing on specific things and don?t invariably make the transition from one activity to another easily ? they can become disruptive.

When teachers see a juvenile that is really active, the label of ADHD is brought up. Teachers intend tos kids to sit tranquilly and listen; not to disturb others. Well this isn?t reality. That is why so many juvenileren are put in medications.

A juvenile who is being taught, for example, colors and the parent repeatedly has to tell them after a few weeks, then the possibility of a learning disability is there. Children mature differently. There are so many different cultures in the American school system, and what is being or not being taught at home can reflect in school.

I don?t believe teachers find it formidable to spot a juvenile with learning disabilities. I believe they are too fast in suggesting that a juvenile might have a learning disability simply in that they can?t sit still or their attention span is fleeting. Thus the school evaluations start.

Some kids are followers and others leaders. Often the juvenileren that are followers get labeled ?learning disabled? in that they can?t contemplate on their own or make their own decisions.

I hope this answers your question. I could go on nonetheless will cease for now.
