The hair on the front, vertex ?and back crown areas are all sensitive to male hormone Testosterone and these hair have receptors to which this Testosterone hormone attaches and cause hair loss and this is called Male Pattern Baldness. The hair at the back above the nape of the neck and over the Temporal areas donot have receptors for Testosterone hormone and so are resistant to the effects of Testosterone and so we donot have baldness in these areas however old we may become. So if these hair are shifted from the back to the front and over the bald areas then these hair will last a life time. This formed the basis of ?modern hair transplantation.

The techniques got refined with time so that we have procedures now which use micrografts, micropunchs and microslits which are less than 1mm in size and this has made the hair transplantation procedure as PAINLESS, SCARLESS, BLOODLESS AND STITCHLESS. This is called the Follicular Unit Extraction or F.U.E technique which has revolutionized the hair transplantation in this world. So F.U.T technique which is also called the strip method has now become totally outdated.
